Cuba has suffered another nationwide blackout, the second in just one week, leaving millions without reliable electricity. Aging power plants, chronic fuel shortages, and decades of underinvestment have pushed the electrical grid to the brink. Now, many are asking whether the country’s energy crisis has reached a breaking point. Lillian Guerra, professor of Cuban & Caribbean History at the University of Florida, gives insight.
