Gov. Newsom, Lawmakers agree on changes to wildfire liability system

Wildfire survivors and consumer advocacy groups applauded the compromise deal that does not prevent survivors from suing a utility if their equipment causes a fire that destroys their home. A previous proposal, backed by Gov. Newsom, would have limited PG&E and other investor-owned utilities' liability.
