San Leandro chief of police charged with hit-and-run

San Leandro's Chief of Police Angela Averiett has been charged with hit-and-run by the Alameda County district attorney for allegedly taking off after clipping a woman's car while driving an unmarked Jeep with police lights in May of 2025.
