Investigation into a deadly police officer shooting in Oakland

On Monday afternoon, California Highway Patrol officers were conducting a routine check on state property encampments in Oakland.  They encountered a suspicious individual with potential weapons, prompting a call for backup to the Oakland Police Department. The situation escalated down the street, resulting in an officer-involved shooting.
