$3.34 billion spent online on Black Friday, new record

Adobe has released its 2016 online shopping data for Black Friday and Thanksgiving Day, showing more than $5 billion was spent online by the end of Black Friday.

This is a 17.7% increase from last year.

Black Friday set a new record by surpassing the $3 billion mark, at $3.34 billion of spending. The other $1.93 billion was spent on Thanksgiving day.

The five best selling toys were Lego Creator Sets, Razor electric scooters, Nerf Guns, DIJI Phantom Drones, and Barbie Dreamhouse.

Apple iPads, Samsung TVs, MacBook Air, LG TVs, and Xbox were the five top selling electronic products.

Principal Analyst and Director at Adobe Digital Insights, Tamara Gaffney, says, "With the full day coming in at $3.34 billion Black Friday may have just dethroned Cyber Monday's positionas the largest online shopping day of the year."
