They say your dollar doesn't go very far, especially in the Bay Area, so imagine if you could buy a home for just a buck?

That's the listing price for a historic house in the East Bay.

The city of Hercules bought the so-called "Queen Anne House" seven years ago, for the bargain price of one dollar.

The original plan was for the city to fix up the old home, which was built in 1901.

Officials at Hercules City Hall never secured the money to renovate the dilapidated home, which is in two pieces.

The house also must be moved from the property where it currently sits.

The city plans to sell the home for one dollar to anyone who agrees to take on the project, which includes transporting and renovating the house at their own expense.
