Beached shark on Pleasure Point coast dying slowly in Santa Cruz Co.

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - An Instagram user shared some amazing photographs with KTVU of what appears to be a salmon shark stranded on the beach at Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz County. 

Shawn Dollar took the photos of a distressed shark on Friday. The animal appeared to be in shallow water with it's body fully out of water. 

Dollar continued to document as Pelagic shark "experts" arrived at the scene to assist the shark, grabbing it by its tail end to coerce it back into the water, but it appeared too weak and was said to by dying a slow death.
