Child dies in SF after being struck by car
SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) -- Police were investigating a fatal accident after a vehicle hit a child Friday afternoon in San Francisco, authorities said.
Rescue workers were called to a residence in the Bayview District on Reuel Court after 1:30 p.m. on a report of a collision between a car and the child.
When crews arrived on scene they said they found the boy pinned between a van and a pole.
The child, whose identity was pending, was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital for medical treatment, where the victim died. The identity of the victim and the person driving the vehicle were pending.
It was not immediately clear how the incident occurred or if charges would be filed.
Investigators are interviewing witnesses and checking to see if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
