Chocolate bar recall expanded over salmonella concerns, FDA says

Spring & Mulberry has expanded its voluntary recall of certain chocolate bars related to potential salmonella contamination. 

Food and Drug Administration officials said a probe identified a "single lot of date ingredient" used in the production of the organization’s chocolate as the likely source of contamination.

To date, there have been no confirmed reports of illnesses linked with the chocolate bars. 

The agency noted that Spring & Mulberry pulled all finished products produced with the lot of date ingredient. The items involved in the recall tested negative for salmonella.

Spring & Mulberry chocolate bars were available to buy online through selected retail partners across the country since August 2026.

According to the Food and Drug Administration, the items are identified by brand name (Spring & Mulberry), with the following identifiers: flavor name, lot/batch codes, and box color.

Can I get a refund for the chocolate bars?

What you can do:

Consumers who bought the impacted chocolate products are urged not to eat them. 

According to the Food and Drug Administration, consumers seeking a refund should take a picture of the item's packaging displaying the batch code and email it to recalls@springandmulberry.com. Once the batch code is documented, consumers should throw the chocolate bars away immediately.
