FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Fairfield police on Sunday confirmed they arrested a 56-year-old man who allegedly called authorities to report he had fatally shot his own brother.
What we know:
The Fairfield Police Department said in a statement that Christopher Cullen was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the Saturday shooting.
Officers were called about 4:55 p.m. Saturday by a man – later identified as Cullen – who claimed he had shot his brother and believed he was dead, according to a department statement.
Emergency responders went to the scene on Westphalian Drive in the Cordelia neighborhood, and police detained Cullen without incident.
Cullen’s brother was taken to a hospital with a gunshot wound, where he later died.
What we don't know:
The brother’s name was not released.
A motive for the shooting was not known.
