A heavy law enforcement presence was reported Thursday afternoon in a West Oakland neighborhood near Martin Luther King Jr. Way and 26th Street.
OAKLAND, Calif. - A large law enforcement response unfolded in a West Oakland neighborhood Thursday afternoon following a shooting earlier in the day.
Surveillance video captures gunfire
What we know:
The incident began on Thursday, just before 11:15 a.m. in the 700 block of Willow Street. Although responding officers initially found no victims or evidence of a shooting, investigators recovered surveillance video from the area. The footage captured the gunfire and an image of the vehicle involved.
Hours later, at around 2:20 p.m, officers spotted the vehicle in East Oakland. Officers didn't engage in a chase, but deployed the department's helicopter to track the car through several neighborhoods.

The aerial unit followed the vehicle until the driver stopped near Sycamore Street and Northgate Avenue in West Oakland. Officers moved in and arrested three suspects connected to the shooting.
Aerial footage from above the scene showed a stalled vehicle in the middle of the West Oakland street with its doors and trunk open. Officers were seen searching through the vehicle.
Oakland police said the investigation remains ongoing. Officials have not yet identified the suspects or released further details regarding the initial shooting.
