How to help Gilroy shooting victims, families, and the community

As the Gilroy community reels from Sunday's mass shooting at an annual garlic festival, several resources have been established to help the victims and their families.

Counseling and support

Support and counseling services are available throughout the week for families and individuals of all ages at Christopher High School. These services are available the following days and times:
Tuesday, July 30, 2019: 9:00AM – 8:00PM
Wednesday, July 31, 2019: 9:00AM – 5:30PM
Thursday, August 1, 2019: 9:00AM – 8:00PM
Friday, August 2, 2019: 9:00AM – 8:00PM 


The Gilroy Foundation has set up a charitable fund to provide relief to victims of the shooting. Every dollar will go directly to the victims. See

Where to purchase #GilroyStrong T-shirts 

The T-shirts are available for purchase at the following locations for $20: 

  • Windermere Real Estate
  • The T-Shirt Place
  • Maria Cid Farmers Insurance Agency

The shirts can also be purchased at the #GilroyStrong Vigil on a first-come-first-served basis. All profits from the sales will be donated to the Gilroy Foundation Fund, according to the Gilroy Business Association

Separate GoFundMe accounts were created on behalf of the families of the three victims who lost their lives in the festival shooting.

#GilroyStrong Vigil 

A candlelight vigil is planned for Thursday at 7 p.m. in downtown Gilroy at the intersection of 5th and Monterey. It's an opportunity for everyone to come together in the wake of tragedy to support those individuals whose lives will forever be impacted by the event.
