Nearly three months since the war began with U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Feb. 28, Iran maintains a chokehold on the strait, while the U.S. military has enforced its blockade on Iran’s ports as well as Iranian-linked ships that are far away from the Middle East.

Rubio: ‘Slight progress’ has been made toward Iran deal
9:29 a.m. ET: Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke Friday morning to reporters, saying "slight progress" has been made toward a deal with Iran.
Rubio again reiterated, Iran "can never have a nuclear weapon."
"I know it's early still in the United States, a little later in the region, in the Middle East, but we await word on those conversations that are ongoing," Rubio said. "There's been some slight progress, I don't want to exaggerate it, but there's been a little bit of movement, and that's good," Rubio said.
Nikki Haley believes Iran is 'stalling'
6:30 a.m. ET: Former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley posted on social media comments about Iran's position in bargaining with the United States.
"Iran is stalling because it doesn’t want a deal," Haley said in a post on X. "It wants a nuclear weapon to threaten Israel, America, and the world."
