SJPD says No threat to public, as cops search for triple homicide suspect
San Jose police detectives on Tuesday searched for a suspect wanted in connection with a triple homicide in the Hayes neighborhood. Two women and a man were killed following the sound of gunshots and screaming, according to neighbors.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - Police are investigating a triple homicide after two women and a man were shot and killed in San Jose overnight Tuesday.
According to the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to a home on the 200 block of Chynoweth Avenue just before 12:30 a.m. after receiving calls reporting gun shots and a woman screaming.

"This woke me up. It woke me up. The gunshots were very. It wasn't fireworks. It was gunshots," said neighbor Khadija Matthews.

When officers arrived, they found one of the victims outside a home with at least one gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital, where she later died, according to police.
Inside the home, officers found another woman and a man, both with gunshot wounds. Police say the second female victim died at the scene and the man was taken to the hospital, where he died.

"The suspect is currently unidentified and outstanding," said San Jose Police Spokesperson Stacie Shih. "Although we do want to make it clear this was an isolated incident so there's no threat to public safety at this time."

One neighbor's security camera captured images after the violence that shook the neighbor to her core.
"You hear [rapid gunfire], screaming. And so obviously that's a crime scene," she said. "So, we don't know what's going on. And seven minutes later a bunch of police and paramedics came."
The neighbor said she is disturbed about the news.
"Our kids walk from school so how do you think we feel? We don't feel very safe," she said.
The three victims have not been identified by the Santa Clara County coroner, as of Tuesday afternoon.
