ORINDA, Calif. (KTVU and wires) – Debris on the tracks in BART's Berkeley hills tunnel knocked two trains out of service, triggering major delays on the heavily traveled Pittsburg to San Francisco line early Friday, transit officials said.

Dispatchers said two trains were damaged traveling through the area around 7:30 a.m. and forced out of service.

A crew successfully removed the obstruction around 8 a.m.

Commuters were warned to expect delays of 15 minutes or so until the system recovered.
