OAKLAND, Calif. - A freeway in Oakland was shut down Thursday afternoon due to police activity near Fruitvale Avenue.
According to a traffic alert from 511, officers were investigating on the eastbound Interstate 580 at Fruitvale Avenue.
All lanes were blocked, but later reopened.
Motorists were advised to anticipate residual delays.
Authorities have not confirmed the nature of the investigation.
