SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - Power has been restored to a San Francisco neighborhood, where there was an underground explosion overnight.
It happened at about 12:40 this morning, at Geary and Hyde Street, just a few blocks from Union Square.
The blast blew off a couple of manhole covers and smoke poured from underground.
PG&E blames equipment failure for setting off the explosion, and causing a small fire. Electricity, along with cable and Internet service, was knocked out.
Service was restored about an hour ago.
No one was hurt in the blast.
