Spare the Air, temps could soar to 109 in East Bay

Officials with the Bay Area Air Quality Management District issued the third consecutive Spare the Air alert in the San Francisco Bay Area for Monday - a day that could see record-breaking temperatures in inland areas.

Commuters are urged to find alternatives to driving alone to improve the air quality, especially in the East Bay. Temperatures, for example in Livermore could reach 108 degrees and 109 degrees in Antioch.

BAAQMD officials are asking commuters to consider taking transit, carpooling or working from home.
