Suspicious package at Democratic headquarters in Sacramento deemed not dangerous
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KTVU) - Authorities responded to a report of a suspicious package at the John L. Burton Democratic Headquarters in Sacramento on Wednesday afternoon and later determined it was not dangerous, according to police.
Employees in the building on the 1800 block of 9th street alerted authorities and evacuated as a precaution.
Officials with the California Democratic Party tweeted the alert around 1 p.m. and Sacramento police announced the area was safe just before 3 p.m.
