Texas police officer accused of slamming student to ground

A Texas school police officer is on paid leave, after cell phone video showed him throwing a 12-year-old student to the ground.

This incident happened at a middle school in San Antonio, last Thursday.

The school district says 2 girls were arguing, when the officer intervened.

The student has reportedly been in trouble and was suspended, but she says she was not fighting.

I was going up to her to tell her let's go somewhere else, so we could talk, but that's when the cop thought I was going at her, said Janissa Valdez."

The student was reportedly suspended after the fight.

Her mother says she has not gone back to school since, and the family is considering legal action.
