Wedding dress creatively repurposed for Christmas decor

SOUTH CAROLINA (KTVU) - A woman decided to get a little creative and repurpose her 1980's style wedding dress so it can be used each year at Christmas.

Tess Heidelberger's wedding dress has just been sitting in storage for the past several decades. 

As she was doing a little organizing she came across the dress in her basement. She didn't want to throw it away, but she also wanted to get rid of clutter. 

Heidelberger says she's sentimental so she decided to find new life for her old dress. With scissors and a little hot glue she turned her dress into a big, fluffy tree skirt. 

She's happy with the result saying, "It turned out great."
