OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - - A neighborhood in the Oakland Hills is tense, after an armed burglar broke into a home Wednesday, and shot a person in the chest.
It happened at about 5:30 p.m. on Chimney Rock, near Skyline Boulevard.
The home is also near the Sequoyah Country Club and its golf course.
A woman at the scene told KTVU that her nephew was wearing headphones, and did not hear the intruder enter the house.
Although the nephew was shot in the chest, he was able to call police for help.
He is in the hospital Thursday morning, and listed in stable condition.
Other people in the neighborhood say their homes were also broken into yesterday, and the burglar may have had accomplices.
Police set up a perimeter, ordered homeowners to stay inside, but could not locate the shooter.
