Fire at PG&E Saratoga substation briefly knocks out power

A fire broke out Wednesday morning at a PG&E substation in Saratoga, briefly affecting 21,000 customers, the utility announced.

PG&E reported the fire at 8:25 a.m.

The fire was contained quickly and before noon, PG&E crews had restored most of the power.

The announcement comes days after a fire at a substation in San Francisco caused a dayslong power outage in San Francisco.
