Firefighters injured in Mission District blaze

A large blaze at a building in San Francisco's Mission District has been brought under control Friday morning, according to the city's fire department.

Crews were initially dispatched to a two-alarm structure fire in the 100 block of Poplar Street at 9:32 a.m., according to a post on San Francisco Fire Department's Twitter.

The fire department reported that at 10:22 a.m. the fire at the four-story residential building was under control.

Two firefighters suffered minor cuts while battling the blaze, according to the fire department. No civilian injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross is responding to the scene to assist the 21 residents reportedly affected by the fire. The total amount of people displaced is not yet known, according to the fire department.
