Possible hazardous materials incident in Pittsburg
Contra Costa Fire responded to a possible hazardous materials incident at a Pittsburg storage facility.
PITTSBURG, Calif. - The search of a Pittsburg storage unit for a possible hazardous material turned up nothing dangerous on Friday, the Contra Costa Fire Protection District said.
An unspecified material had been found in a container in a vacant storage unit on Friday that prompted the facility's owner to request officials to examine its contents, a Con Fire spokesperson said.
There was a strange smell in the unit on Railroad Avenue, but no dangerous material was found, the fire department said.
No evacuations were ordered.
