The windy weather today around the Bay created problems for some boats tied up near Sausalito.

The Coast Guard says the winds in Richardson Bay kicked up high waves, knocking over at least one boat. They responded with two Coast Guard boats, two jet skis and two fire boats to help with overturned boats and houseboats that were loose.

“High winds caused multiple boats to either drag anchor or break free from their moorings, sending vessels out of control, endangering vessel occupants and other boats and structures in the area,” said Mike Martinez, acting Battalion Chief of Southern Marin Fire District.

One vessel did sink and caused a fuel leak. No injuries were reported.
