Man assaults flight attendant, one other on flight

An unruly passenger assaulted a Delta Airlines flight attendant on-board a plane on Friday.

The flight was headed for Beijing from Seattle, when it was forced to turn around after the altercation.

Court documents say 23-year-old Joseph Hudek from Tampa, Florida, was sitting in first class and got up to use the restroom several times. The last time, he lunged for an emergency exit door.

Two flight attendants apparently tried to restrain him, and he punched one of them in the face twice.

One passenger, who tried to intervene, was reportedly punched and hit with a wine bottle. Eventually, that passenger was successful in restraining Hudek.

Two people were taken to the hospital, including one of the flight attendants.

New photos from the Justice Department show the scattered food and broken glass.

Hudek's grandfather says the 23-year-old was on his way to visit a friend in Beijing and he has flown all of his life without any issues.

Hudek remains in jail Saturday.
