Oakland police hand out 'Toys for the Town'

Oakland police are donating 1,000 toys this Christmas in their first "Toys for the Town" program. Emma Goss reports

The Oakland Police Department on Thursday is hosting its first "Toys for the Town" celebration. 

Police officers in total donated 1,000 toys to the event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to toy giveaways, there will be games, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and lots of treats. 

The event is open to the public.
