Stockton mayor denies criminal charges
STOCKTON, Calif. (KTVU) - Anthony Silva was arrested on Thursday, for allegedly playing strip poker at a summer camp last year, with at least one minor.
Silva is denying these charges.
Prosecutors accuse Silva of serving the teen alcohol, and making an audio recording of the incident.
Silva says the charges against him are politically motivated, to sully his name, and ruin his chances of winning re-election in November.
Silva says he will not resign.
Before this arrest, he made headlines last month, when a gun stolen from his home, was used in several crimes, including the killing of a 13-year-old boy last year.
Silva didn't report the gun as missing until a month after the boy's death.
