A vacant structure in San Jose burned on Friday evening. Firefighters responded to the three-alarm fire at the 1700 block of Saratoga Ave. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - A vacant structure is on fire in west San Jose, Friday evening, officials say.
The San Jose Fire Department is responding to the 1700 block of Saratoga Avenue, where a two-story structure is burning. The fire broke out just before 5 p.m. and has gone to three alarms.
The SJ Fire Dept. shared photos of thick black smoke emanating from the Kato Business Square plaza building.

Firefighters are conducting defensive operations. At 7:48 p.m., the fire department said the fire was not yet under control, and they were still continuing their operation.
Traffic in the area is impacted. Saratoga Ave. is closed in both directions between Prospect Road and Lawrence Expressway. Lawrence Expressway is shut down at Saratoga Ave. San Jose police officers were at the scene providing traffic control.
The public is asked to avoid the area.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time. It is not known if there are any injuries.

Woman, 31, dead in garage after Redwood City house fire
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office on Friday said they are trying to figure out how a 31-year-old woman was found dead in a detached garage following an early morning house fire in Redwood City.
