Veterinarians race to save the life of a baby gorilla

It was a rare delivery at a zoo in England as veterinarians were forced to deliver a baby gorilla by C-Section.

Vets said they had to move fast once they realized the mother gorilla’s life was in danger. C-Sections in gorillas are so rare that the vets had to call in a gynecologist from a nearby hospital to perform the operation.

The baby gorilla weighed just over two pounds and initially needed help to breathe. She eventually started breathing on her own.
