Two killed in San Jose; neighbor heard arguing

San Jose police said two men were killed late Thursday night, but they did not provide many more details.

Investigators have identified two men who were fatally shot in a commercial building in San Jose last month.

The victims were identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office as Oscar Herrera Salgado, 41, of San Jose, and Eddie Leon Guerrero Delgado, 56, of Sunnyvale.

The backstory:

San Jose Police officers were called to the 700 block of Santa Clara Street at 10:11 p.m. on March 12. Upon arriving, police said they found two men on the ground, both suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Both were ultimately pronounced dead on the scene.

Police did not name the commercial building, but KTVU identified the crime scene as a two-story building that houses a market and hair salon across the way from Van Florist.

Police are treating the shootings as homicides, and the motives and circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.

One neighbor told KTVU that the night of the shooting she heard people arguing, then a car speeding off. Other neighbors said they didn’t hear any gunshots and were shocked to see the scene unfold.
