Baby abandoned at SFSU returns years later to attend college, graduate

A baby who was abandoned at San Francisco State University 31 years ago, has now graduated from the same school.

According to a report from the San Francisco Gate, Jillian Sobol was left in a box in a laundry room on Nov. 5, 1984.

A student was doing his laundry when he found Jillian in the box.

The baby girl was rushed to the hospital and was later adopted by Sam and Helene Sobol.

Sobol grew up with her loving family.

According to the report, she later learned her birth mother had been 19-years-old at the time she gave birth. Sobol was told her birth mother met her birth father at a party.

Sobol graduated Friday with a bachelor’s degree from SFSU.
