A BMW  crashed through a wall and into the lobby of the Wild Flour Bakery located at 140 Bohemian Hwy in in the North Bay community of Freestone on Sunday.

“We're seconds away from getting the famous fougasse and we heard the window,” said Kathy Loewenstern.

Loewenstern was on a bike ride when at around 12:30 p.m., when she stopped to make a purchase at the bakery.

“We just got pushed forward and then we noticed it was a car. I personally was pinned in. I couldn't move and it was really painful,” she told us.

The BMW that crashed into the eatery somehow managed to either avoid and jumped the parking bumpers.

Grace Rubardt , who works at an antiques store next door, heard the commotion and ran outside.

“I immediately turned back around - because most people don't have service out here, but we have a landline so I knew that we should call 911 just because I wasn't sure that other people might be able to.”

Rubardt herself was in the bakery lobby minutes before the incident took place.

The California Highway Patrol, the agency in charge of the investigation, said there were a total of six injuries but none required a trip to the hospital via an ambulance.

CHP said that the driver behind the wheel of the BMW at the time of the crash had mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake but it wasn’t immediately clear whether he would face charges or if the incident would be deemed accidental.

His identity has not yet been released to the public.
