Body discovered Wednesday morning at South Bay landfill
MILPITAS, Calif. (KTVU) -- A body was discovered early Wednesday morning at the Newby Island Resource Recovery Park.
San Jose Police went to the scene and are now investigating. Officers are not classifying it as a homicide as of Wednesday morning.
The operator of the landfill, Republic Services, says it's an unfortunate situation and they are cooperating with police.
They empty their trucks every day, with the first trucks leaving at 2 a.m. to collect trash. Republic Services believes the body was most likely picked on one of the routes, and was brought back to the facility, but they are not certain.
