COPY-Online couple to wed 1 year after she gave him something he can't live without

When it comes to finding your partner in crime for life, finding the right fit can be tough. The same holds true when it comes to a kidney transplant. This Cambridge, Minn. couple matched on both accounts.

Bride-to-be Haley Holst and future husband Tim Dougall have learned life has a funny way of working out sometimes. For Holst's mom, there was a bit of shock when she heard her daughter met Dougall online, but it was soon quite clear the pair had something special.

In January of 2014, everything changed. The relationship that had been going so well hit a devastating snag. At only 26, Dougall's kidneys were failing, and the prospect of a transplant seemed unlikely, and none of his family members were a match.

"I guess I can say I tried not to think about that, more think about what we could do, than what could happen," he said.

What did happen surprised his friends, family and even Dougall himself, and it took this love story far beyond skin deep. The odds are 1 in 100,000, and after dating for less than a year, Holst was found to be a match and gave him the gift of life. Her kidney now lives in his body, and this June, one year to the day of the transplant, he'll return the favor putting his ring on her finger.
