Evacuation drill in San Carlos ahead of Sunday heat advisory
SAN CARLOS, Ca. - Just in time as the weather heats up and the fire danger rises, a peninsula neighborhood held a wildfire evacuation drill Saturday morning.
Authorities say the objective is to help educate and prepare the local community for a possible evacuation in the event of a wildfire.
Participants registered for the exercise and received an alert on their phones at 7 a.m., and were told where to meet.
Afterwards, the community met with firefighters to discuss the drill, learn about wildfire preparedness, and explore firefighting equipment.
