Investigators say Saratoga hills fire started on equestrian trail

A Santa Clara County fire investigator says we may never know what caused the Eden Fire in the Saratoga foothills last month.

Investigators tell KTVU they now believe the fire started on an equestrian trail, about 2 and a half miles away from the Mountain Winery.

They can’t rule out electrical, spontaneous ignition or fireworks, although they don’t think fireworks were likely.

They have ruled out lightning and anyone operating equipment.

Meanwhile firefighters are still investigating the drone incident after capturing the drone of a hobbyist, and deciding whether to press charges.

The fire burned 10 acres off Mt. Eden Road..
