Question of the Day: Is it a good idea to date a co-worker?
In the wake of the Me Too movement, Facebook and Google are setting new rules on dating within the workplace.
The Wall Street Journal reports that companies are allowing their workers to ask a co-worker out, but they are only allowed to ask once. If they are turned down, they are not allowed to ask again.
Facebook says that answers such as "I'm busy" or "I can't that night," count as a no.
Workers also don't have to report the date to their HR department, but if there is a conflict of interest and the relationship is not disclosed, workers could be disciplined.
Companies have been trying to tackle any risk of inappropriate behavior, following a rise in workplace misconduct reports over the past year.
