Four juveniles were arrested after setting fire to a stolen car and taking the burning vehicle on a joyride in Northern California on Monday.

Joyride captured on video

The backstory:

The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office shared video online showing young people doing donuts in a parking lot as flames blared from the right passenger side of the car.

Sheriff's deputies said a burglary alarm was triggered around midnight in the 4300 block of Warehouse Court in North Highlands. A 911 caller also reported that a car had been set on fire and the suspects drove away in another vehicle.

What we know:

A responding deputy spotted the vehicle and attempted to pull the driver over, but they continued driving. A chase ensued, and deputies were able to use a PIT maneuver to disable the stolen car near Marconi Avenue and Lacy Lane.

The driver and three occupants exited the car and fled on foot.

Deputies eventually captured the driver and the three passengers, all of whom were minors. They were taken to Sacramento County Juvenile Hall.

Authorities said both the charred vehicle and the car the suspects were spotted in were stolen.

Investigators said several other people tied to the incident are still outstanding, as video posted to Instagram showed over a dozen spectators watching the driver of the burning vehicle perform stunts.
