Girl fatally strikes pedestrian with car in San Jose
A juvenile girl fatally struck an adult male pedestrian on Friday in San Jose. Police said the man was not in a marked crosswalk. The driver is cooperating with the investigation.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose has recorded another fatal crash involving a pedestrian this week. The latest incident occurred Friday. Officials say the driver of the car involved is a juvenile.

The collision occurred around 9:16 a.m. in the 1400 block of Mabury Road, where a white Infiniti sedan, being driven by a girl, struck a pedestrian.

San Jose police give update on deadly pedestrian crash
A pedestrian was killed Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Mabury Road in San Jose.
Police said the driver of the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which is still underway.
Victim
The man who was struck died at the scene. The San Jose Police Department said the man was not in a marked crosswalk. The identity of the victim will be released by the Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner, officials said.

Recent fatal crash
The fatal collision comes three days after a taxi driver struck and killed an 18-month-old boy in the 2100 block of Canoas Garden Avenue.
On Thursday night there was another crash involving two adult pedestrians near Carlton Avenue and Winton Way, but those victims are expected to recover after being taken to the hospital. Officials said the driver in that crash was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver was taken into police custody. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

Friday’s crash marked San Jose’s eighth pedestrian death of 2026 and 17th traffic fatality of the year. At this time last year, San Jose had recorded nine traffic deaths, five involving pedestrians.
Stacie Shih, a public information officer with SJPD said San Jose is seeing a troubling increase in San Jose this year. "Especially in the recent weeks," Shih said. She said at least three of the fatalities this year were caused by impaired drivers.
"This is something that the San Jose Police Department has been taking seriously," Shih said.
