Sexual assault on Stanford campus

Stanford University police are investigating a sexual assault on campus, according to authorities.

The attack happened Saturday night in a women's restroom located near Stanford Memorial Church at about 8 p.m., in a restroom on the Main Quad. Police were notified of the attack at around 10 p.m. they said. 

Police described the attacker as a white man in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall, and with a full beard.

He also wore a red Stanford hoodie, black Stanford sweatpants and white shoes.

Stanford University Department of Public Safety said the person who reported the incident was not a victim, nor a witness, but had told them a female juvenile was preparing to exit the restroom when an unknown man approached the victim and grabbed her buttocks through her clothing. Two other women entered the bathroom as the incident was taking place and the suspect was said to have fled.

Police said the suspect did not want to give them a statement and was not physically injured.
