OAKLAND (KTVU) -- The deadline has arrived for U.S. residents to file their 2016 federal income taxes and several businesses are offering up discounts to take the sting out of the tax bite.

Several businesses have taken to social media to tout their tax deadline freebies, which include discounts on meals or free eats.
