Tennessee infant killed in dog attack at family home, police say

PORTLAND, Tenn. - Police in Tennessee said a baby died after being attacked by the family’s dog.

According to Portland Police, officers were called to a home on April 20, where they determined the dog had entered through a rear door and attacked the infant, resulting in the child’s death.

When officers arrived, the dog was still aggressive and was euthanized at the scene. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

According to WSMV, the victim was a 7-month-old girl, and her mother was also injured in the attack.
