Tiger cub triples born at Columbus Zoo
COLUMBUS, Ohio (KTVU) - Three tigers were born Tuesday morning at the Columbus Zoo. According to the zoo's Facebook page, the tigers were born to first-time mom, Irisa.
The cubs, which were all boys, weigh 2.5 pounds. The zoo says Irisa failed to nurse them, so the decision was made to hand rear them.
The birth of the cubs comes as great news as the Amur tiger species is critically endangered.
