Triple shooting outside Antioch Applebee's; 1 dead

ANTIOCH (BCN) An 18-year-old man died and two teenage boys were injured in a shooting early this morning in the parking lot of a business complex in Antioch, according to police.

Officers responded at 1:17 a.m. to several calls reporting multiple shots fired in the 2700 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

The officers arrived to find two male victims on the ground in the parking lot, including the 18-year-old who died at the scene, police said. Contra Costa County Coroner's office identified the 18-year-old as Jordan Martin.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to a hospital to undergo surgery for his gunshot wounds, according to police.

While officers were at the scene, they learned that a third victim, a 17-year-old boy, arrived at a hospital for treatment and investigators determined his injuries were linked to the parking lot shooting, police said.

Police believe the shooting was part of a confrontation between the victims and another group of people. No suspect information has been released by the Police Department.

Witnesses described the gunfire. “I thought it was firecrackers,” Rick Del Castillo said.

Another witness at a gas station nearby said he heard an argument before the shooting.
