Woman arrested on suspicion of DUI after Pleasanton crash

A 31-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in Pleasanton early this morning after a crash into a power pole that is expected to keep a main thoroughfare in the city closed into the afternoon, police said.

Jessica Heinbuch, a Livermore resident, was arrested after she and a passenger were found leaving the area of the crash, which was reported at 3:08 a.m. on Vineyard Avenue near Machado Place, according to police.

Officers found the empty vehicle that had crashed into the pole and knocked down power lines. They eventually found the pair, who were taken by ambulance to a hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening, police said.

Heinbuch was arrested on suspicion of DUI, then was released to receive treatment for her injuries at the hospital.

Vineyard Avenue remains closed in both directions between Ruby Hill Boulevard and Machado Place and will likely stay closed until this afternoon while crews repair the damaged power pole, police said.
