Nurses and other health care workers gathered Monday outside Oakland’s Highland Hospital to honor Alex Pretti, a registered nurse who was shot and killed by a Border Patrol agent during an ICE protest in Minneapolis over the weekend. Similar vigils were held throughout the Bay Area, including one at UCSF’s Mission Bay campus, with more planned in the coming days.
