Suzanne Ford, the first transgender woman to hold the position as Pride's executive director, is also receiving national acclaim and is being honored by Out Magazine's Out 100 list.

Redwood City Police shot and killed a man in residential neighborhood on Tuesday afternoon. They've identified the man as 48-year-old Jose Reynaldo Lombera of Redwood city. Police say officers were responding to a report that a man had fired a gun into the sidewalk. The San Mateo County District Attorney's Office is jointly investigating this incident with the Coroner's Office and the Redwood City Police Department.

Oakland Bakery launches sweet effort to help families during government shutdown

Amid the ongoing government shutdown, one Oakland bakery is stepping up to help families who are struggling financially, by giving away free cakes and cupcakes. Angel Cakes Bakery, a worker-owned cooperative, launched a GoFundMe campaign this week to sponsor baked goods for families who may not be able to afford them. For every box of cupcakes or cakes sponsored, the bakery will donate another.

SJ apt residents see their cars windows broken in apparent crime spree

Residents of a North San Jose apartment complex said at least 40 vehicles parked in a secure underground garage had windows broken over the weekend. A glass repair company was on site Tuesday replacing windows for several vehicles. San Jose police said they're investigating and will have more information about the cases Wednesday.

She is the subject of a new short documentary film, Beyond the Rainbow: The Intersection of Pride and has been named one of Out Magazines Out100 for 2025 under the education category. In this interview with KTVU Digital Producer Andre Torrez, she says she came out later in life at 46, is committed to keeping SF Pride a free event for the foreseeable future, but realizes the organization needs new streams of revenue.
