BART riders in San Francisco are getting a little extra protection from the elements as Bay Area Rapid Transit?officially unveiled new canopies over station entrances, even if it is seven months late.?

Regular BART riders are used to getting an eyeful during their commutes. Documented incidents of bio hazards and open drug use have recently given the transit system a bad name. But we found these two inspiring hip-hop dancers who take to the rails and share their form of expression. KTVU's Tony Hodrick and Andre Torrez profiled them for Segment 2.

BART's board of directors narrowly voted down a five-mile extension of their Dublin-Pleasanton line to Livermore on Thursday night. So many people showed up to the meeting, the overflow room was needed. Many say service to the Tri-Valley area is needed because the housing crisis is pushing people out to the Central Valley. Bus riders in the South Bay had quite a scare after discovering an usual passenger on board with them, a two-foot long python. The snake was found on a bus traveling from San Jose to Palo Alto. No one claimed it so it's now up for adoption.
